Soapstone Boxes from India
These boxes are made of soapstone with inlayed flowers made of dyed abalone shell. There are two styles. One has smooth edges and the other has holed drilled in the edges for a more three dimensional pattern. These boxes come in four sizes: 1.5X2X1; 2.5X3X1; 3X4X1; and 6X4X1. Each size comes in four shapes: rectangle; heart; circle; and oval. The price is based upon style and size.
Number one and two show the drilled edge versus the smooth edge styles.

Soapstone Animals
These animals were carved from soapstone in India. They come in 2, 3, 4, and 5 inch sizes. The frogs, dolphins, fish, turtles, and owls are carved animals with a smaller animal of the same type carved inside. The elephant trains are of solid soapstone. Besides the types shown, there are a limited number of other sized pieces of the same animals.
